To keep your jewelry looking its best, hand clean your pieces with a very soft toothbrush, mild liquid soap and water. Avoid using a commercial jewelry cleaner as this will damage the finish and patina.
Patination or oxidization are surface finishes that may change or fade over time. The colors are sealed and protected by layers of lacquer, but can eventually wear off if repeatedly rubbed or scratched. Remove jewelry when exercising, showering, cleaning, etc.
Products such as hairspray, perfume, lotions, and chlorine from swimming pools can cause irreparable damage to porous gemstones including pearls, turquoise, opals, coral as well as the delicate colors of a patinated surface. Caution should be taken when cleaning your jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner.
I stand by the quality of my jewelry. For all pieces with a patina, I offer a free re-patination process for the cost of return shipping only. If your jewelry becomes damaged, I will be happy to assess the damage and offer an estimate for repair.
